Claire de lune SOLD OUT

Pure Piano Magic

Pianist David Selig makes a welcome return to the Festival after his sold-out performance in 2011.

Born in Australia, David has been a long-time resident of Paris, from where he has carved out a European-wide reputation as both an authority and a virtuoso in 19th and early 20th Century keyboard repertoire. David performs regularly in France, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, as well as the United States and the Far East.

In this rare Australian appearance, he brings his acclaimed touch to some of the best-loved classics of the solo piano canon. Program highlights include Chopin’s Barcarolle in F sharp Major Op. 60, Schubert’s truly monumental Sonata in D Major, and Suite Bergamasque by Debussy (whose birth sesquicentenary was celebrated worldwide in 2012) – which includes Clair de lune nestled amongst lesser-known but equally entrancing gems.
