See you next year!January 7th, 2013 | Posted by in Uncategorized
For nine glorious days the Mornington Peninsula was once again filled with the sounds of world-class performances, accompanied by the best food and wine that the region has to offer.
Over 60 musicians gathered from around the world to perform 19 concerts (7 of them sold out) at 10 different venues across the Mornington Peninsula.
Our new events, the After Hours series at Port Phillip Estate, and the Carnival of the Animals were hugely successful, the Recital Series an absolute joy, and the performances at Main Ridge Estate, Moorooduc Estate, Moonah Links Resort and Hummingbird Eco Retreat, unforgettable. Our two larger projects, the Cantatas and Monteverdi Combattimento both received high praise in their reviews in The Age.
Over 2,000 people attended this year’s Festival – a 34% increase on last year’s attendance and an indication of the growing popularity of the event.
I would like to thank all of this year’s artists for their wonderful performances, and our dedicated production team for making it all happen in all temperatures and hours of the day.
To our sponsors and supporters, publicity team, venue hosts, volunteers, Friends of the Festival, drivers, catering assistants, carriers of chairs, fetchers of coffee, wranglers of animals and pourers of wine – thankyou.
Stay tuned for details of our 7th Festival – and in the meantime, have a wonderful 2013.
